 The Number One Melon--Hetao Sweet Melon Hetao sweet melon is also names as “Hualaishi”. The normal weight of an authentic Hetao sweet melon is about half a kilog-ram. Being a valuable breed among all kinds of melons, the pulp of Hetao sweet melon is yellow and it has a mixed taste of pear, apple, honey peach and banana. Because of advantaged natural conditions such as land, sunlight and temperature difference, the melons planted in Dengkou County are the best, which are well-known both within and outside Inner Mongolia due to the good color, flavor and taste.

 The Chief of Sunflowers--Hetao Sunflowers Sunflowers are the oil—bearing crops with the biggest plant area and the most extensive range in Bayannur city. The sunflowers here are divided into two types: dapple sunflowers for eating and oil sunflowers for squeezing oil. The oil sunflower seeds are the main oil-bearing materials, because of thin skins, plump seeds and high oil content. The yield of it is 150 million tons every year, and the oil content rate attains about 40%.The dapple sunflower seeds are easy to eat and the oil content rate is relatively lower than the oil sunflower seeds .After processing into spiced seeds and other many kinds of flavors, they become the favorable foodstuffs. The yield of the dapple sunflower seeds is 100 million tons every year.

 High-quality Melon Seeds- Hetao Black Melon Seeds Black Melon Seeds are peeled from “Zigua” (a kind of melon which is mainly used to produce seeds). Black melon seeds are the third biggest economic crop, after sunflowers and beet. The plant area is 300,000 mus (Chinese acres), which occupies 5.9% of the whole plant area and 18% of the economic crops plant area. Black Melon Seeds are popular with merchants both within and outside Inner Mongolia because of the plump seeds.

  High-quality Melon – Hetao Watermelon Being famous for its big size, sweet flavor and succulence, watermelon becomes the main economic crop of Hetao region. It has many high-grade varieties. Generally, the weight of one watermelon is 3-5 kilograms, but the biggest one will be 10 kilograms. The yield of every Chinese ache is more than 7,000 kilograms on average, and 400 million kilograms every year. The sugar content rate attains 12% due to the distinctive climate conditions of Hetao region. Most of Hetao watermelons are sold abroad or in other places,

 “Snow White”–The White-hair Goats of Erlang Mountain Being an excellent local breed, the white-hair goats of Erlang Mountain are raised for both wool and meat. The length of wool is more than 15 centimeters on average. The shearing of each goat is about 400-800 grams, and the shearing of each adult goat is 365 grams, at most 750 grams. The thickness of wool layer is 4-6 centimeters. Being the superior raw material, the wool has a good fame in international market due to its light, warm and soft features. The meat of the white-hair goats is delicate and superior, and without foul odor. The lean meat rate is 35%-45%.

  Excellent Tonic – Hetao Chinese Wolfberry Medlar Chinese wolfberry medlar, which has the biggest plant area and the largest production, is a medicinal herb in Hetao region. It has formed several growing bases such as the two biggest ones- Xingfeng village of Wulateqianqi and Shahai village of Hangjinhuoqi; it is used for nourishing liver and kidney. The fruit of medlar will be picked after 3 years of growth, and the flesh of its fruit is bright red or purplish red. The medlar in Hetao region is famous for its big size and soft succulent and sugared pulp.

 The King of Traditional Chinese Medicine--Liquorices
With a long producing history, Bayannur City is one of the main producing areas of liquorices in Inner Mongolia, especially the “Wangyedi” liquorices in Dengkou County, which is well-known for its great quality, red color, delicate skim, bright and clean surface and particular processing. The sales volume of liquorices in Bayannur is 110,000 kilograms every year, and 30,000 kilograms are exported.

 Desert Ginseng--Cistanche Desert cola (Rou Cong Rong) Because of the unique geographical environment and climate, Cistanche Desert cola in Bayannur, which is well known as “desert ginseng”, has big size, thick pulp and sweet taste. The dried fleshy stems of Cistanche Desert cola with high medicinal value are used to reinforce the vital function of kidney and to influence fertility, sterility and weak waist and knees in women. It mainly spreads over the Gobi area in Wulateqianqi. The sales volume is 50,000 kilograms and 20,000 kilograms are exported.

 Advantaged Industry--Tomato The products of tomato have plentiful nourishing substances such as carbohydrate, organic acid, amino acid, lycopene and vitamins, especially lycopene, which can lower the risks of arteriosclerosis and cancer. According to the test, the content of soluble solid substances of our tomatoes attains 6% and lycopene attains more than 60 milligrams of every 100 milligrams, both are higher than the indexes of the tomatoes in Xinjiang. Otherwise, our tomatoes belong to green foods, with no agricultural chemicals, little insect pest and leaf mold.

 Rare Camels – The Red Camels with Two Humps of the Gobi The red camels with two humps of the Gobi spread over the Gobi regions in the north of Yinshan Mountain and the south of the borderline between China and Mongolia. They are called “red camels” because of their purplish red hair. The quantity of a red camel hair is 4.2 kilograms every year on average, and the quantity of its fluff is 3.75 kilograms. Therefore, the fluff of the red camel is well known both at home and abroad due to its long fiber, slender fluff and large production. The weight of a camel is 200-450 kilograms, and 5.2% of them are killed every year. The paws, humps and muscles of the camels are all delicious foods.
